Comments: Habitats were classified according to the Marine Protected AreasClassification, Protection Standard and Implementation Guidelines, withmodifications required by insufficient data quality in some areas of theregion. Data were collated from a range of recent and historic sources,andmerged and analysed in ArcGIS. These data include multibeam and sidescan sonar data fromthe National Institute for Water and Atmospheric Research and LandInformation New Zealand.
