Title: East Cape Habitats
Author:
Comments: A drop camera survey of the East Coast subtidal area was undetaken between Hekawa Point (Te Araroa) to approx 500m south of East Island (Whangaokeno Island), covering 60km2 of the inshore area to a depth of 30m. 820 drops were analysed to classify the bottom topography complexity and species observed. THe habitat complexity was used as an estimation of biodiversity, Surveyed areas were grouped into habitat types using the classification by Shears et al, 2004. Raster datasets of habitat complexity, description and inshore carpophyllum distribution are also part of this survey. For further detail see the report:East Cape Biological Habitat Survey - A Drop-Camera Survey of East Cape Sub-tidal Areas. ASR Ltd, prepared for the Department of Conservation -East Coast Hawkes Bay Conservancy. 2005.
Subject: A Biological Habitat Survey of East Cape subtidal areas. Habitat complexity and classification from drop camera sites.
