Comments: Rivers within the Hauaraki Gulf Marine Park extracted from the LINZ Topo50 topographic database: a natural, flowing body of water emptying into an ocean, lake or other body of water and usually fed along it's course by converging tributaries.
Only those rivers signigicant by their size and location are held in the data and shown on the printed maps. The River_cl NZTopo dataset is used to show the river centreline when the river is too small to be captured at 1:50,000 as an area feature. In the instance of highly braided rivers, only a subset of the braids will be shown. The River_poly NZ Topo dataset is used to capture a river as an area feature where it is wide enough at 1:50,000.
