It allows authorized users to reference and maintain information about land.Protected Area:A protected area is a clearly defined geographical space, recognised, dedicated and managed, through legal or other effective means, to achieve the long term conservation of nature with associated ecosystem services and cultural values.There are around 60 different types of protected areain New Zealand. Since the formation of DOC these records have been maintained by the department through its day-to-day management of protected lands in New Zealand.
