The surveys did not provide full coverage of the entire country and sampling rates may have varied between areas.Amateur Charter Vessels are included within this dataset only if they were captured during one of the aerial surveys.The 2011-2012 surveys correlated with the Rena oil spill and subsequent fishing closures in the Bay of Plenty.
